Check your mail-in ballot when you get it. After you’ve filled it out, make sure you’ve signed everything you’re supposed to sign – WITHOUT YOUR SIGNATURE IT WON’T COUNT. Your signature is checked with a database to make sure it matches. That, bar codes, a verifiable paper trail, and other security measures make sure your ballot is secure. MAIL-IN VOTING, IN MANY WAYS, IS FAR MORE SECURE THAN USING ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES IN PERSON.
VERY IMPORTANT: Check the postage and make sure you’ve got enough to cover it. In California, postage is not required to return mail-in ballots, but other states want to put stumbling blocks in your way, so watch out.
